The PLAN Fund is always looking for volunteers/interns to help in all aspects of our program. We will do our best to work around your schedule in order to get you involved with our program.

Are you looking to make a difference in your local community? If so, you can do this by assisting Plan Fund in their programs, by volunteering for 2+ hours a week.

The following Volunteer projects are currently open and we are seeking volunteers:

Teaching
Volunteers required to teach our entrepreneurs financial concepts such as cash flow, basic accounting etc. Volunteers with relevant business background, i.e. financial services, banking, real estate is preferred. Teaching experience is a plus but not a requirement. Training will be provided.

Time: Ongoing (2 hours a week)

Volunteers Needed: 2

Member Communications Assistant
Volunteers are needed to assist PLAN Fund (PF) members with their marketing and communication strategy. The Volunteer will engage the PLAN Fund member on their business strategy and provide PF member feedback on their communication strategy. The volunteer will identify with the PF member possible new marketing ideas to reach their customers and identify new targets. In some cases the volunteer will assist the PF member with drafting up a simple promotion flier or brochure that can be used to market their product or service.

Volunteers will get a chance to work with Plan Fund entrepreneurs. This is a dynamic way for you to get to know our program and clients, while providing an invaluable service to our members. Skills required are some experience in Marketing or Advertising and or Business Strategy. Also it would be helpful to have Intermediate level Microsoft Professional skills. Both English and or Spanish speakers are needed.

Time: Ongoing (2 hours a week)

Volunteers Needed: 5

Loan Application Assistant
Volunteers are needed to assist members with filling out their loan application that includes a summary business plan outline and cash flow projections.

Volunteers will get a chance to work with Plan Fund entrepreneurs to ready them for a business loan. This is a dynamic way for you to get to know our program and clients, while providing an invaluable service to our members. Experience in Finance, Marketing and Accounting are a plus. Also it would be helpful to have Intermediate level Microsoft Professional skills.

Both English and or Spanish speakers are needed.

Time: Ongoing (2 hours a week)

Volunteers Needed: 4

Outreach
Volunteers required to assist the Outreach Coordinator with speaking engagements at appropriate churches, agencies, groups etc for recruiting new members to the Plan Fund program. Tasks include researching groups in Plan Fund industry segments, reaching out and setting appointments with appropriate organizations. Skills required are good communication and interpersonal skills.

Time: Ongoing (2+ hours a week)

Data Entry
Volunteers required to assist with data entry on several Plan Fund projects.

Time: Ongoing (2-4 hours a week)

Volunteers Needed: 1-2

Receptionist
Volunteers required to assist with answering phones, and help out with occasional mailings.

Time: Ongoing (2-4 hours a week)

Interested in how PF communicates its program to potential donors and potential clients?

The following projects are currently open and seeking interns:

Communications Intern
Interns will be working on managing several communication projects, including working and designing the Plan Fund Newsletter. The Communications Intern must have superior communication skills (both verbal and written), experience designing flyers, invitations and/or ads and excellent attention to detail. This internship requires 8-10 hours per week.

Membership Database Directory
Volunteers required to design Plan Fund's membership directory. Tasks include creating a high-level design for the membership database that is relevant to PF environment, and gathering existing membership documents. Volunteers with intermediate/advanced MS Access skills required. Data entry is not required for this activity.
